Champagne on Michelin wine lists
Published . Based on the May 2026 restaurant study.
Krug and Dom Pérignon appear on more than two in five of the Michelin wine lists in our sample. Bollinger, Louis Roederer and Ruinart also rank among the fifteen most widely listed producers, across all wine regions.
That gives Champagne a clear place on these lists. It does not tell us how many bottles restaurants sell, or which wines guests prefer.

The five houses with the widest reach
Krug leads by five restaurants. Reach is only one measure: it counts a restaurant once whether its list carries one cuvée or several vintages. The depth column shows the average number of entries where the producer is present.

Which cuvées are on the lists?
Dom Pérignon Brut has the widest reach among the saved cuvée results for these five houses. Cristal, Ruinart Blanc de Blancs and Bollinger Special Cuvée also appear frequently.
Cuvée names follow the source matching. Krug Grande Cuvée’s numbered editions are separate rows, so their restaurant counts cannot be added together without counting some restaurants twice.
Ten cuvées with the widest reach within the saved top-five-cuvées extract for each of these houses.

Champagne takes more space at three stars
The typical list’s Champagne share rises from 7.1% at one star to 8.8% at three stars. The average rises further, from 10.6% to 14.7%, because some lists carry much larger Champagne selections.

| 3 stars | 8.8% | 14.7% |
Using the benchmark
For a restaurant, this is a comparison of list composition. For a producer, it is a measure of observed presence in the sample. Neither is a sales ranking.
A small Champagne section can still cover different styles and price points. The counts here show what is commonly listed; they do not prescribe what belongs on your own list.
Sources and method
This report uses the published May 2026 Wine Labs and In the Mood for Wine study: 1,063 restaurants and 356,512 wine list entries. It describes the sampled lists, rather than every Michelin restaurant.
A list entry is a listing, not a bottle sold. A restaurant carrying several vintages can contribute several entries. Producer reach counts each restaurant once per producer.
The house ranking filters the original top fifteen producers overall. The cuvée table ranks only the saved top-five-cuvées extract for those houses; it is not a complete Champagne cuvée census. Champagne shares describe list entries, with average and median calculated across restaurants.
