“The data quality and matching accuracy are outstanding. Our match rates are significantly better than anything else we tested. The matcher keeps getting better without us lifting a finger.”

The questions we get asked most, whichever plan you are on. How billing works, how calls are counted, and what you can do with the data. Something not covered here? Ask us directly.
Every plan is a monthly recurring subscription, charged on the same day each month from the date you subscribe. Tiers differ only in the size of the monthly call allowance, so you can move up or down as your volume changes.
Yes. A plan renews every month until you cancel it. You will see the next renewal date on your account page.
Cancel whenever you like. There are no long-term contracts and no minimum commitment, and your access runs to the end of the month you have already paid for.
No. The allowance resets at the start of each billing cycle, and whatever you did not spend does not carry forward. There is no credit bank to draw down later.
Shared, within each product. One Core allowance covers every Core endpoint:
Markets, Market Insights, and Transactions API are separate products. Transactions includes auctions, exchange trades, and exchange order book under one shared allowance.
One request to one endpoint. Matching a wine and then fetching its details is two calls, even though it is the same wine. Batch endpoints charge per item rather than per request, so a match_to_lwin_batch carrying 20 wines spends 20 calls.
Core gives you wine identity and reference data: matching and wine details, from a single shared allowance.
Yes. Display it in your product, whether web, mobile, or internal tooling, and store it for that product to run on, provided you credit Wine Labs as the source. One limit applies:
Yes, and we encourage it. Store the LWIN identifiers and wine metadata you have already fetched. A wine you have matched once does not need matching again, and a cached identifier costs you nothing further.
Every account starts with a one-time free allowance that runs against the live production API. It does not reset each month; paid plans add a monthly quota. There is no separate sandbox to build against, so the integration you test with is the one you ship.
Alongside your plan allowance, each endpoint category has a burst gate, with daily and monthly rolling quotas behind it. Current limits are approximately:
Expecting heavier or spikier traffic? Tell us the volume and we will size the limits around it.
The self-serve plans carry no formal uptime SLA. If you need committed uptime, agreed support response times, or custom limits, talk to us about an enterprise plan.
