Tertre du Moulin: Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Label, Prices and Lookalikes
Tertre du Moulin is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru label, not a classified growth. Live prices from 26 sellers, auction results, and the Château du Tertre mix-up.
Tertre du Moulin is a red Bordeaux wine sold under the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru appellation. It is not an appellation itself, and it is not a classified growth. Most bottles on sale today carry the name "Tertre du Moulin Cuvée Millésimée".
This page sets out what can be confirmed about the label, how it differs from similarly named wines, and what it costs. The prices come from Wine Labs data on November 4, 2026: 26 sellers with a live 750 ml offer, and 8 auction lots with a recorded sale price since 2018.

We did not find a public source that names the producer or bottler behind the label. Retail listings and wine databases name the wine but not the company that makes it. Vivino's winery page lists "Tertre du Moulin" as the winery, with no owner. Some earlier write-ups linked the brand to a specific Bordeaux négociant; we could not confirm that, so we leave it out.
What "Saint-Émilion Grand Cru" means on this label
Saint-Émilion has two appellations: Saint-Émilion and Saint-Émilion Grand Cru. According to the Saint-Émilion wine council, the Grand Cru appellation is the stricter of the two, and only wines in it can also carry the titles "Grand Cru Classé" or "Premier Grand Cru Classé".
Those titles come from a separate classification. The 2022 edition lists 85 properties (Saint-Émilion classification). Tertre du Moulin is not among them. On a label, "Saint-Émilion Grand Cru" alone describes the appellation, not a classified rank.
Tertre du Moulin is not Château du Tertre
Two other wines share part of the name. They are different wines from different places.
| Wine | Where | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Tertre du Moulin | Saint-Émilion, Right Bank | Saint-Émilion Grand Cru label, not classified |
| Château du Tertre | Margaux, Médoc, Left Bank | Fifth growth in the 1855 classification, 52 hectares in a single block, owned by Eric and Marie-Louise Albada Jelgersma since 1997 (Château du Tertre) |
| Château Tertre de la Mouleyre | Saint-Émilion | A separate Saint-Émilion Grand Cru estate (Langton's listing) |
The price gap shows why the names matter. Château du Tertre has a live retail median of $59.90 across 792 sellers in our data, about twice the Tertre du Moulin median. A search for "Tertre" alone can mix the two.
Where Tertre du Moulin is sold

Two markets account for 23 of the 26 sellers. In Germany, most sellers are supermarkets and border shops near the Danish border, such as Scandinavian Park in Handewitt and Poetzsch Padborg in Harrislee, and prices sit between $11 and $15. In Vietnam, the wine is sold by specialist wine shops at $26 to $37. Prices there include local import duties and taxes.
One Vietnamese listing at $49.41 is a "buy one, get one free" offer. We left it out because the price covers two bottles.
Most listings do not state a vintage. Where they do, they show 2019 or 2020.

Auction results
Tertre du Moulin rarely goes to auction. Wine Labs holds 35 lots matched to the wine, at 5 auction houses. Only 8 have a recorded sale price we can use. Most of the others were relisted several times without a recorded result.
| Sale date | House | Vintage | Bottles | Price per bottle |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| January 2018 | Steinfels | 2000 | 1 | $17.98 |
| July 2020 | Spectrum Wine Auctions | 2010 | 1 | $23.00 |
| July 2023 | Acker | 2001 | 1 | $25.00 |
| August 2023 | Acker | 2001 | 1 | $18.75 |
| August 2024 | Brentwood Wine Auction | 2014 | 1 | $6.00 |
| July 2025 | Spectrum Wine Auctions | 2015 | 6 | $12.30 |
| July 2025 | Spectrum Wine Auctions | 2015 | 3 | $13.33 |
| July 2025 | Spectrum Wine Auctions | 2015 | 1 | $20.00 |
The median of these eight results is $18.37 per bottle, buyer's premium included. That is a small sample, and each result depends on the lot's condition and the sale. The older lots, from the 2000 and 2001 vintages, were catalogued as "Château Tertre du Moulin". The later ones carry the "Cuvée Millésimée" name.
Retail and auction prices measure different things. A retail price is an asking price for a bottle in stock. An auction price is the result for one lot, with the buyer's premium but before shipping and tax. The two should not be read as one market level.
Checking a bottle before you compare prices
- Read the full name and appellation. "Tertre du Moulin, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru" is a different wine from Château du Tertre, Margaux.
- Note the cuvée. Most current listings say "Cuvée Millésimée". Older bottles may say "Château Tertre du Moulin".
- Match the vintage and bottle size. Many listings leave out the vintage.
- Compare within a market. A German border-shop price and a Vietnamese shop price include different taxes and duties.

Data methodology: Wine Labs data, snapshot November 4, 2026, for the wine "Tertre du Moulin, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, France". Retail uses live offers from online merchants and wine shops, standard 750 ml bottles only, with one price per seller (the lowest). A seller listed both as an online merchant and as a shop counts once, and a multi-bottle promotion is excluded. Prices are converted to US dollars and may include local taxes. Appellation figures use one median price per wine per seller for all Saint-Émilion Grand Cru wines with a live 750 ml offer. Auction figures use lots with a recorded realised price, buyer's premium included, per 750 ml bottle, with flagged outliers and mixed lots removed. One 2024 lot is left out because its title and its recorded bottle count disagree.
