Alpha Omega ERA: Vintages, Blends and Prices in 2026
Alpha Omega ERA vintage by vintage: the winery's published blends and winemakers, plus live prices from 114 shops, 174 auction sales and 30 restaurants.
ERA is the top red at Alpha Omega, the Rutherford winery Robin and Michelle Baggett opened in 2006. It is a Cabernet Sauvignon blend, and the recipe changes every year. The winemakers taste lots from across their Napa Valley vineyards and keep the ones they want for ERA (Alpha Omega). The first vintage was 2006.
Below is what the winery has published about each vintage, and what the wine sells for today in shops, at auction and on restaurant lists. Every blend figure comes from the winery's own tech sheets or product pages. The prices come from Wine Labs data collected on November 4, 2026.
ERA defines Alpha Omega's greatest achievement in winemaking each vintage, illustrating the character and extraordinary diversity of Napa Valley's terroir.
ERA, first crafted in 2006, represents 'a new era of winemaking' in Napa Valley and the philosophy upon which Alpha Omega was founded. Just as Alpha Omega signifies all that is good from beginning to end, ERA unites the finest traditions of Old World craftsmanship, meticulous hand tending of vines, and handcrafted French oak barrel fermentation with the precision of New World state-of-the-art technology in both the vineyard and the cellar.
ERA is a perfectly matched union of Napa Valley's finest Cabernet Sauvignon single vineyards, each chosen for its exceptional expression of terroir. The final blend unites valley floor, hillside, and mountain vineyards, capturing the unique influence of Mother Nature each growing season.
ERA is 100% barrel fermented and aged in the finest French oak barrels, enhancing the wine's noble character while integrating flavors and tannins to provide both early approachability and exceptional aging potential.
ERA is the ultimate expression of Alpha Omega's philosophy, bringing together all that is good from beginning to end. Each vintage of ERA reflects a profound sense of place. It is the culmination of their enduring commitment to extraordinary winemaking and an expression of the very essence of Napa Valley.

Robin Baggett was a grape grower before he was a winery owner. He started farming in 1988 and founded Tolosa Winery in Edna Valley in 1998. Michelle Baggett created the Alpha Omega name and brand (Alpha Omega). The tasting room on Highway 29 opened in July 2006 (Napa Wine Project).
Who makes ERA
Jean Hoefliger made the wine from the start, with Michel Rolland as consulting winemaker on the blends. The 2011, 2012 and 2013 tech sheets name both of them (2012 tech sheet).
Henrik Poulsen came back as head winemaker in April 2019. He had worked under Hoefliger as assistant winemaker for seven years before leaving in 2013. Hoefliger moved to a consulting role across the Alpha Omega Collective, and Rolland kept working on the final red blends (Alpha Omega). Andy Erickson joined as consulting winemaker in early 2021 (Wine Industry Advisor).
Melissa Paris is the winemaker today. She joined in 2020 and took the title in July 2024, with Erickson still consulting (Alpha Omega).
Where the fruit comes from
ERA has never been a single-vineyard wine. The early vintages drew on seven vineyards. The 2012 sheet lists Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper, Beckstoffer To Kalon, Beckstoffer Las Piedras, Beckstoffer Dr. Crane, Sunshine Valley and Stagecoach.
By 2016 the list had grown to eight. The 2016 sheet names Thomas Vineyard and Beckstoffer Georges III in Rutherford, Drew Vineyard on Mount Veeder, Sunshine Valley in Oak Knoll, Beckstoffer To Kalon in Oakville, Beckstoffer Dr. Crane and Las Piedras in St. Helena, and Stagecoach on Atlas Peak. Drew first went into the blend in 2015 (2015 sheet).
The 2015 to 2017 sheets say each ERA vineyard is farmed to no more than two tons of fruit per acre. For the 2021 vintage, the winery describes fruit from vineyards it farms in Oakville, Yountville, St. Helena and Mount Veeder (ERA 2021).
ERA vintages and blends
Cabernet Sauvignon has made up anywhere from 81% to 100% of the wine. The rest has moved around: Cabernet Franc and Merlot in the early 2010s, then Malbec and Petit Verdot. ERA was 100% Cabernet twice, in 2011 and 2016.

The oak has eased off. From 2011 to 2018, most vintages spent 22 months in barrel with 80% new oak. Since 2019 it has been 18 to 20 months with 50% to 70% new. Malbec has gone the other way: it first shows up in 2017, and it reached 10% or more in 2022 and 2023.
Cellar notes change too. The 2011 to 2014 and 2016 sheets say the wine was fermented with its native yeast and neither fined nor filtered. Later sheets say only that it was barrel fermented and not fined. If you are writing a shelf talker or a list note, use the sheet for that vintage.
What ERA costs today
On November 4, 2026, 114 sellers had ERA on offer in a 750 ml bottle. Most are in the US (98 sellers), with six each in Japan and South Korea. Half of all offers sit between $383 and $445, and the median is $443.
Per 750 ml bottle, US dollars, November 2026.
| Channel | Price | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Auction | $168 | Median of 174 sales, buyer's premium included |
| Winery, 2023 release | $340 | aowinery.com list price |
| Shops | $443 | Median of 114 sellers, all vintages |
| Restaurants | $600 | Median of 30 US wine lists |
These four prices don't measure the same thing. The winery price is for the current release. Shop prices mix recent vintages. Auction prices are what one lot sold for, with the buyer's premium but before shipping, tax and storage. A restaurant price includes service.
By vintage, shops ask a median of $300 for the 2013 and about $440 for the 2018 and 2019. At auction, the 2013 sold for a median of $178, and the 2018 and 2019 for $188 to $198.
Medians per 750 ml. Vintages with at least five shop sellers and five auction sales.

ERA in the Alpha Omega range
Alpha Omega makes several other reds and whites. These are the ones with the most sellers in our data, all vintages together.
| Wine | Shop sellers | Shop median |
|---|---|---|
| Alpha Omega Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley | 317 | $150 |
| Alpha Omega II (Two Squared) Proprietary Red | 130 | $52 |
| Alpha Omega ERA | 114 | $443 |
| Alpha Omega Chardonnay, Napa Valley | 82 | $89 |
The single-vineyard Cabernets (Beckstoffer To Kalon, Dr. Crane, Georges III, Las Piedras and others) are separate wines. Each has fewer than ten sellers in our data, so we don't quote a price for them here.
Buying ERA
The winery sells current releases directly, and its ERA Elite membership gives members first access to new vintages and library wines. Older vintages turn up regularly at auction. A few magnums and 3-litre bottles are on offer too, but not enough to give a fair price.
